Featured Student

Our students are the future of dog training and the heart of our school.

That’s why we regularly take a moment to recognize one of our top aspiring trainers here.

Our Featured Student this month is Grace Seward of Austin, AR. At the time of this posting, Grace has just graduated with Distinction from the Master Class and earned her CCDT certification title!

A Word from Grace

Grace working with her dog, Brody. Nice move!

My Favorite Recent Study Topics:

Canine body language, shelter externship, success with families.

My Favorite Recent Hands-On Activity:

Teaching basics to shelter dogs was an amazing experience!

How My Studies Have Changed the Way I See Dogs:

I now understand so much more about dogs’ instinctive behaviors and body language. This has revolutionized my daily contact with dogs because I now understand more about why dogs do what they do and what they’re trying to communicate. I can then take that information and use it to build a stronger relationship and a positive learning environment.

One of Grace’s favorite memories with Brody was the day he found a baby squirrel that had fallen from its nest; he laid down beside it until Grace came over. “I joke that he decided on squirrel search and rescue for his career!”

What I’m Most Excited About:

I could say SO much about my incredible experience at CATCH. But one thing that stands out to me now is how well CATCH prepared me to progress in the broader world of R+ canine training and behavior. CATCH prepared me to pass the CPDT-KA exam last fall. I’ve never, ever regretted the decision to enroll in CATCH, and I’m super excited for the future!
