Featured Student

Our students are the future of dog training and the heart of our school.

That’s why we regularly take a moment to recognize one of our top aspiring trainers here.

Our Featured Student this month is Kelli Dean of Boardman, Ohio. At the time of this posting, Kelli is wrapping up her Master Class final exam and is about to graduate as a CCDT. Congratulations on your hard work and success, Kelli!

A Word from Kelli

‘I am so proud of Kelli. She is going to be successful! Very happy to work with her!’ – Jenny F., CATCH Mentor

My Favorite Recent Study Topics:

My favorite topics have been learning and observing canine body language, hands-on training skills, and building relationships with local shelters.

My Favorite Recent Hands-On Activity:

My favorite hands-on activity was building on my relationship with the local Humane Society. The dogs at the shelter have a special place in my heart, and I love being able to further my education while giving them a better chance at gaining a forever family.

How My Studies Have Changed the Way I See Dogs:

Body language has been especially helpful for me, both with my own dogs and other dogs in public. I can much more easily notice when they’re uncomfortable with an interaction and change the situation so everyone can be happy.

Kelli knows it’s important to keep training fun!

What I’m Most Excited About:

The program at CATCH has made such a difference in my confidence with dog training, whether it be how dogs learn, how I teach, or what I plan to do after graduation. There program really does set you up for success, and even if you feel stuck the Student Support team is there to help you every step of the way! Thank you, CATCH!

Way to go, Kelli, we’re so proud of you!
