Our Featured Student this month is Nicole Girgis of Columbus, OH. At the time of this posting, Nicole is wrapping up the final Phase of our Basics Pro curriculum, and will soon graduate as a Professional Dog Trainer!
A Word from Nicole
My Favorite Recent Study Topics:
While Nicole is training, she loves to let her dogs others watch! She has found that, “it is amazing how fast one dog can learn by watching another!”
My favorite topics of study are learning to use positive reinforcement with my dog, how to communicate with people about their dogs, and how to set up a business.
My Favorite Recent Hands-On Activity:
My favorite hands on activity is teaching the dog/puppy to do what is asked with hand signals only.
How My Studies Have Changed the Way I See Dogs:
After my studies, I have come to see that all dogs are different and should be treated individually with care.
What I’m Most Excited About:
When I have had questions, my Program Director, Arminda, has always helped me and explained things so well. She is very encouraging and makes learning fun!
A Word from Nicole’s Mentor:
Nikki was the most well prepared and best handler I have seen come out of the CATCH program of all of the mentees you have sent me! She is outgoing, friendly and kind – I can see her being successful when working with clients and their dogs. Very impressive.
