Our students are the future of dog training and the heart of our school.
That’s why we regularly take a moment to recognize one of our top aspiring trainers here.
Our Featured Student this month is Sigi Cohen of Henderson, Nevada. At the time of this posting, Sigi is taking her Final Exam for the Master Class, and she’s about to graduate as a CDTK. We’re so proud of her!
A Word from Sigi
My Favorite Recent Study Topics:
I loved Phase 2, learning all about and understanding behavior, body language and vocalization (play behavior & greeting behavior). I also loved Phase 3: how dogs think & learn.
My Favorite Recent Hands-On Activity:
I loved the play behavior, and seeing meta signals. Also, I loved the dog & human play hands-on activity.
How My Studies Have Changed the Way I See Dogs:
The other day, while talking to someone that I’ve just met, I was asked how many languages do I speak? I answered him ” I speak English, Hebrew & dog language.” It feels good to know what the dog is saying to you as you approach their owner. Understanding the dog is a big plus while training him in a positive way.
What I’m Most Excited About:
Thank you CATCH Academy for giving me this wonderful gift of becoming a positive dog trainer. I’ve learned so much from this program. The CATCH Academy staff is wonderful, very knowledgeable, helpful & kind. With all this tremendous knowledge that I gained, I’m able to help and answer most questions that dog owners have for me, and train their dogs in a positive way, imparting my knowledge to them. What a wonderful feeling it is to speak ” dog language ” and help them in their needs.
Way to go, Sigi, we’re so proud of you!
