Featured Student

Our students are the future of dog training and the heart of our school.

That’s why we regularly take a moment to recognize one of our top aspiring trainers here.

Our Featured Student this month is Terri Tarantino of Morristown, New Jersey. At the time of this posting, Terri is finishing up Phase G of Basics Pro, and she’s doing a great job with her studies.

My Favorite Recent Study Topics:

My favorite topics so far are: 1) understanding behavior, body language and vocalization, and 2) hands-on training – basic and advanced obedience skills.

My Favorite Recent Hands-On Activity:

My favorite hands-on has been practicing basic obedience and manners fundamentals.

How My Studies Have Changed the Way I See Dogs:

I have always had a great love for dogs and all animals, and being able to better communicate with them and understand their needs is a great feeling. Volunteering 4 days a week at St. Hubert’s Doggy Day Camp is so fulfilling for me. Thanks to CATCH Academy I can now read the dogs’ body language and intercede when needed.

What I’m Most Excited About:

I really would like to thank Kelly for always being there and for helping me every step of the way. I thank CATCH Canine Trainers Academy for giving me the knowledge to train and help Mia and other dogs. When I got Mia for training purposes she, at 7 years old, had never been trained or leashed. Only a short time later she is a trained happy loving dog who loves to go for her leash walks everyday.

Way to go, Terri, we’re so proud of you!
